Introduction: Über uns

My Story

In autumn 2020 I participated in the RUNMATE event. This is a relay race of 210 km around Lake Geneva. I was part of a team of 9 runners with friends, we were the Super Heros of the race. The weekend of the race was going to be very cold and rainy. Despite my first 10km in rain and hail, we didn't let the weather get us down and kept a good mood. After my second relay unfortunately our bus broke down but we didn't want this to force us to abandon. By hitchhiking, taking the train, and spending a lot of time in the cold without shelter, we still managed to finish the race after 20 hours!

These two days and the 30 km I ran were not only the hardest but also the most incredible. The spirit of not giving up and supporting each other as a team was unique. I will keep this experience unforgettable. The video from below will keep those memories forever alive.

My Passion

As well as loving nature, especially the mountains, my passion is definitely being a ski instructor. The combination of skiing and teaching gives me goals to achieve during my day on the slopes. The happy faces of clients afterward make this feeling even better. They learn from you however I learn a lot from them as well. Furthermore, this job is high variated between teaching to children or adults and the different situations every day, where you should be flexible and able to adapt fast. Ski school is far more than only skiing and earning money for me, it is like my second family for an entire season with whom I am almost spending every day during the entire winter. I’ve made many friends there, we have a lot of good times together and today, after being an instructor for now 8 years, I can say that a lot of them are by far my closest friends.

My Values

In the last few years, and particularly during my tourism degree, I have become more and more aware of the issue of climate change and the future. All these reflections triggered in me a desire to change my way of consuming as well as my values towards society. If everyone makes a little effort, our nature and our community could do much better and we would be able to benefit from this in a much better way.
